Health, hygiene and safety

Healthy food Policy:

These are provided by the parents. We encourage Healthy eating so have provided you with a few suggestions/recommendations. We two snack times during the day: breakfast and lunch. Each snack should be in different boxes in an appropriate bag alone.

We believe that eating healthily is extremely important in the development of young children. We recognize that children should be able to enjoy food as well as learn good behaviors for the future.

Here are some suggestions:
  • Vegetables and Fruits( either salads or steamed)
  • All kinds of yogurt, water, milk, fresh juice (not in a cane better in paper).
  • Rice, pasta, chicken or meat (without bones), home cooked meals
  • Sandwiches such as: cheese, chicken, meat…
  • Cereals, biscuits

Foods that are not allowed:
  • Chocolate and peanuts sandwiches.
  • Indumi, boiled or fried egg.
  • Chips, chocolate, nuts.
  • Crisps, all kind of fizzy drinks (coca, pepsi, 7up…..)
  • Chewing gum and sweets.

Hygiene:

  • Daily cleaning of all toys and surfaces within the classrooms.
  • Strict Cleaning schedule for all areas of the Nursery.
  • Strict Hand Hygiene Procedures.
  • Our nursery is subject to regular inspection to ensure compliance with the Ministry of Social Affairs Standards covering every aspect, from staffing, organization and curriculum to equipment, food and drink, safety and hygiene.

Safety:

For the safety of your child and others..Please remember to close the Safety Gates when entering and leaving the Nursery Grounds and corridor. If someone else is going to be dropping off your child, please make sure they aware of these rules.

We have invested heavily in facilities such as:

  • Alarm Sensitive Doors.
  • Interconnected fire and smoke alarm systems.
  • Finger guards around doors.
  • Safety gates.
  • Heat regulated taps.
  • Fire doors throughout.

  • Clearly marked escape routes.
  • Emergency lighting.
  • Security staff.
  • List of people allowed to collect your child
  • CCTV Cameras have been installed throughout the Nursery.
    Staff and Students are observed by Administration Staff to ensure the security of all while on the premises.

Contacts and security:

We display an index card in the classroom which has emergency contacts, Persons allowed to Pick up your child, Allergy Issues and First Aid Consent. If someone comes to pick up your child and they are not on the list, they will not be allowed to take him. With this in mind, please make sure you alert your child’ carer if sending someone else to collect your child so that your child doesn’t get upset while awaiting confirmation by you.
